Holly and I joke around that this is the recipe we make when we’re trying to impress friends. It seems to be working as we’ve tricked them all into thinking we can cook.
Finely crush 24 of the cookies (we use a potato masher) and mix with butter.
Press Oreo/butter mixture firmly onto bottom and along the side of a 9-inch pie plate.
Pour milk into large bowl and add pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until well blended (mixture will be thick).
Spoon 1 1/2 cups of pudding into crust.
Gently stir 1/2 of the whipped topping in with remaining pudding (that was left in your mixing bowl); spread over initial pudding layer in crust.
Chop remaining 8 cookies; stir into remaining whipped topping. Spread over pie.
Refrigerate 4 hours or until set. I actually freeze it for an hour immediately after finishing and then let it refrigerate; I’ve found that it helps the pudding to set a little better.
Now go make some friends and enjoy!
