  • 2 1/2 cups shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon pepper

Don’t feed the broccoli to your dog, regardless of how much they want some.

In a food processor, process broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots until fine. Add to bowl when finished.

Brocolli and Califlower

Stir in sunflower seeds, cranberries, raisins, and parsley. Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Brocolli Califlower and Craisins

Stir detox salad

Serve it up as a side dish for lunch or a side for dinner. We happened to use it as the main dish with a sweet potato for the side. Look at the steam coming from the potato; I love this new camera!

  1. Karylle says:

I love eating salad and I think a lot of people are always excited to try making their own salad and even invent their other versions..

  2. Katie says:

I think all of the recipes you post have been inspiring me. Usually my dinners are pretty boring, but I have already made two new dishes this week. (Healthy too!)

  3. Michelle says:

Looks so delish! I love that you served it with a sweet potato–one of my favorite foods. Did you know that if you had to choose just one food to eat for the rest of your life, it should be sweet potatoes because of their unique balance of macro and micro nutrients? I’m full of useless tidbits, aren’t I? 😉

  4. I am loving this recipe series. This recipe looks delicious and I am definitely going to try it. I am a vegetarian who tries to eat vegan as much as possible so this is right up my ally.

  5. Gracie says:

    I like this…spring mix,spinach,toasted walnuts,madarian oranges(can),tomatoes, baslamic vinigret…mix together and enjoy!

  6. Now tell me, is this for weightloss or just cuz you like vegetables?

  7. Rasins and cranberries are two of my favorite dried fruits. You know I am taking this recipe for a spin! (Get it? Get it?) Heh.

  8. Nick says:

Wow – you’re just all over the meatless recipes. Did I miss that you’re vegan somewhere?

And the camera is pretty amazing.

    • Andy says:

Nope! You must have missed some of my awesome meat-filled recipes. Although we do try to eat healthy…I’ll have a carbonara pasta recipe here in a few weeks with bacon in it; I think that one might suite you more!

  9. Eddie says:

Your dog definitely gives is the approval. Looks yummy.
I’ll have to try it out soon.

  10. Modest Money says:

That does look like a tasty salad, especially served with the sweet potato. I am impressed by how healthy you eat. Keep it up with all these healthy recipes and I’m bound to give in eventually. I loved the photo with your dog eying the food too. How can you not give him a piece of broccoli with that face?

    • Andy says:

Gunner isn’t allowed to have any human food. I’m pretty sure he’s only had it once in his 6-year life.

  11. This looks like a wonderful salad. This would definitely be a nice meal for me, because I’m a big fan of salad. Also, I’m impressed that it’s called a Detox Salad. Man! The name says it all.

  12. Wait a sec, is this something you cooked up or your wife? If it was you, impressive!!! BF only knows how to cook meat and dishes with meat in them (aka lots of garlic salt and seasoning). I’m always in charge of salads and veggies/sides so this is something I’d love to try.

    • Andy says:

She actually made this! I don’t do all of the cooking (she probably does the small majority) but I could have easily made this…this recipe is super simple!

  13. AutumninWI says:

This looks great, I’m definitely trying it. I love the Quinoa Bean Salad so much, I have high hopes for this one too!

    • Andy says:

Hi Autumn!! I replied to your common on the Quinoa salad recipe; I’m glad you liked that!

I will say I didn’t think this one was nearly as good but my wife liked it quite a bit. It really does make a lot of servings and I think that’s what I didn’t like about it. I had it for a few days in a row and by the time I got to the 4th day I was tired of it.

  14. Wow, I’m beginning to feel highly inadequate reading your recipes! If this is how you eat regularly, you better assume in your retirement planning you’ll live to age 115! 🙂

  15. I was going to say just what Daisy did. Looks like your dog is really eyeing that broccoli

  16. Daisy says:

Looks delish and healthy- I think your dog agrees.

  17. Michelle says:

    This looks really good!

  18. This looks tasty! I think we may soon make a week’s worth of meals (evening meals) here at our house just from your excellent recipes!

    • Andy says:

That would be kind of fun! If you want me to give you “the best of” let me know and I’ll be happy to throw out a few recommendations!
