Microsoft Windows desktop brands for Outlook support two types of Exchange account connection modes: Cached Exchange Mode and Online Mode.
Cache Paging Mode

When an Exchange account is configured in Outlook to use Cached Exchange Mode, Outlook works with a local copy of the user’s Exchange mailbox, which is typically stored in an offline data archive ( .File) ost

The goal of paging cache mode is to successfully ensure that Outlook on the web and offline runs smoothly. It is also designed to protect users’ network from delays and connection issues when using Outlook.
How do I clear the cache on my computer?
With dedicated caching of user mailboxes on computers, Outlook no longer depends on a permanent network connection to collect information about users. It also reduces network load. Once messages are received over the network, subsequent access to those messages does not result in additional network traffic.
When a trusted user is offline and using Outlook, the program works with this localized copy and with the offline address book (OAB). Email messages, cosdata by a certain user is offline, always sent when that user is online in the lower back. If the user is , the offline address book cache and mailbox may be refreshed periodically by the Exchange server in the background.

Online Mode
The second type of general Exchange mode is online mode. Online mode works with information coming directly from the server; As the name suggests, a connection is required. Set Modes
By default, when a user adds an Exchange account to Outlook, Cached Exchange Mode is used. To disable Cached Exchange Mode and switch to online mode, the user can disable it during account setup and then change the account settings.th Exchange entry in the Outlook account settings window.
How to enable Cached Exchange Mode in Office or 365 Office 2019:
